Mission and Vision of PathstoMath
Mission.
We have as our main objectives:
* To provide methods and materials designed to increase success for mathematics learners.
* To use the power of the Internet to facilitate the teaching/learning process for both the teacher and the student.
Vision.
Central to our vision are the classroom activities that foster interactions between teacher and students and among the students themselves. These materials are notable for the following:
*Designed to build mathematical concepts in a constructivist model.
*Provide a variety of paths for differentiation and individualization.
*Include many opportunities for students to learn problem solving using real life situations.
*Request reading and writing from the learners, preparing them for further development of these needed skills.
*Allow teachers to deliver instruction using pair-share or groups to create a positive learning community in the classroom.
Professional Development is a key element for building success with these materials. We are both experienced mathematics teachers who will provide support for the users of our materials.
